A significant proportion of the Company’s turnover is spent on improving its knowledge and understanding of new technologies and developing market driven solutions, which are key factors to determine the best policy for committing work on the Company’s technical future.
The Company designs, develops, manu- factures and maintains an entire range of automated Self-Service equipment. The first product - Rapid Deposit - was developed jointly with NatWest Bank in 1984. Its purpose was to provide a quick, simple and secure means of making deposits for both personal and business customers alike. Although originally conceived for 'Saturday Opening' branches, the concept has subsequently been applied to open plan and extended hours offices as well as in 24-hour vestibules, for both personal and business deposits.

Banking Automation operates worldwide and has installed more than 8,000 systems throughout some 30 countries and is now accepted as the market leader in dedicated Self-Service deposit systems. Outside of the UK Banking Automation works successfully through a network of strategic and dedicated distributors.
